So much to catch up on!

Yes, I really have been stamping and scrapping - I've just neglected to post pictures of my projects.  I hope to remedy that today with several posts to show you what I've been working on.

This first picture is a card I made for a friend of my daughter's who got married this summer.  I used a file from the Silhouette store to cut the dress, and then embossed the skirt with a Sizzix for Stampin' Up! embossing folder.  I embellished with some pearls and ribbon, and lined the envelope with patterned paper.  I'm sorry I can't tell you who it's from - I have forgotten and have none of the paper left, unfortunately.

Stay tuned - more to come!

Birthday card for Shelly

I know... the name of this blog is Everyday Stamper, but it's been ages since I actually posted any pictures of things I've stamped.  This post is no exception.  There is NO stamping at all on this card, which is amusing to me, since it's for my friend Shelly who is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  There's also NO Stampin' Up! product on it except for the dimensionals.    Sorry, Shell!

Shelly is really hard to make a card for because she's an awesome cardmaker herself.  When I make a card for her, it has to be something special.  I knew I wanted to use my Silhouette machine because I'm having so much fun playing with it and testing the limits of what it (and I) can do.  When I saw Jen Gallacher's guest post on the Silhouette blog, I knew I had found my inspiration in the scrapbook page she had created.  I also knew that the design would need to be scaled down to work within the size limitations of a card.

With a little help from this video of Whimsical Wendy's (no relation - although I WOULD love to craft with her!) I was able to modify my background to add a frame around it, and create the frame for my sentiment block.  All of the other pieces were easy - just a matter of scaling them to the size I wanted.

I'm quite pleased with my results, and hope you enjoy the card!

Goodwill Deal!

I am a thrift store fanatic.  I will roam every aisle and inspect every shelf for hidden treasures. I don't generally see any scrapping or stamping supplies on my thrifting trips, but occasionally I come across something wonderful, like these:

I found these this morning at Goodwill.  They're mostly from the Making Memories Spook Alley collection, with one goody from K & Company.  I got:

  • 2 packages of Spook Alley Looking Glass self-adhesive embellishments (orig. $4.99 ea.). The picture only shows one.

  • One package of Spook Alley Glitter Alpha Stickers (orig $3.99 ea.)

  • One package of Spook Alley Glitter Rub-Ons (orig. $3.99 ea.)

  • One package of K & Co. Grand Adhesions Dimensional Stickers ($3.49 ea.)
And how much did I pay for these delicious Halloween goodies, you may ask?
Twenty-nine cents each.
I love a bargain.

Card for Courtney

Katherine is keeping me busy making birthday cards for her friends lately.  Here's one I made for Courtney.  This card uses Stampin' Up! Designer series paper, SU! ribbon and ribbon ornament.  It also uses fabric tapes from Making Memories, and a rub-on from an unknown company.  Sorry, it was just sitting there in my drawer with no identifying marks!

The inspiration for the card came from Kristina Werner's blog.  I adore her videos and go straight to her blog when I am looking for ideas.

Birthday Card for Sarah

Here's another birthday card I made for one of my daughter's friends.  It uses the Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut Cartridge, but there's no kitty in sight!  I went with a cupcake instead, but stuck to traditional HK colors.  The CS is from Stampin' Up! - don't ask me which color it is; I'm not sure.  I used a foam stamp and some Versamark ink for the background image.  I didn't want it to be too distracting.  I printed the sentiment from my computer. The font is 0 Whoa DNA.  I popped the sentiment and the cupcake up off of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals from SU!.  I used Crystal Effects on the cherry, white glitter on the frosting and brown flocking on the cake.  I ran the cupcake liner through my Cuttlebug for the dotted effect and finished up the card with a white grosgrain bow.  It's simple, pretty and graphic.

Thanks

This was a quick and easy card that I made for my sister-in-law's parents.  I wasn't able to make it to the Relay For Life to do my survivor lap, so they sent me a Survivor's t-shirt - so thoughtful!  Cardstock is from Stampin' Up!, Rub-ons are heidi grace Icons from the Sweetest Bug collection, "thanks" stamp - source unknown.  I'd love to be able to tell you who makes it, but the packaging has disappeared.  It's a clear set with loads of images that comes in an 8x8" square package.

I love that the rub-on is the primary image on this card - that's definitely something different for me.

Urban Birthday

This card is for one of my daughter's friends -- she's a little bit girly, a little bit preppy and she loves pink.  I didn't want anything too distressed for this particular project, so I chose papers from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie collection.  The base is "Milk"; a really pretty, lightly distressed white. The floral layer is "Bountiful" - I rounded two of the corners, and sort of underlined it with a stitched rub on from Heidi Grace's "Borders" collection.  The grid patterned circle was taken from the center of a sheet of "Monarch".  One of the things I like about this particular paper is that there are so many different elements to cut out and use separately, or you could use the whole sheet for a scrapbook page.  I then punched 3/4" circles from the pink solid in this paper collection, "Morning Glory" and arranged them around the gridded circle to make petals.  I popped this layer up using some Stampin' Up! Dimensionals.  "Happy" was added with white chip board  Thickers from the Gift Box collection.  I hand wrote "birthday" underneath.  As a final touch, I rounded the upper right and lower left corners of the card with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.  I got this tool for my birthday.  Although it's a bit large and heavy, I do like it.

Hope you enjoy today's creation!  If you do, please be sure to leave me some love!
